Jamala: Songs of Freedom

Follows Ukrainian singer-songwriter Jamala as she flees Kyiv with her children during Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and profiles her activism for her homeland. Jamala gained international fame in 2016 as the winner of Eurovision with her song, "1944," about the deportation of Crimean Tatars — including her great-grandmother's family. Her latest album, QIRIM, which means Crimea, is a tribute to her Crimean Tatar roots.

Music Brings Generations Together

When musicians over the age of 50 headline a rock concert, you expect to see baby boomer fans in the audience, but this isn't always the case. Take the Lockn' Music Festival in rural Arrington, Virginia. Here, different generations, normally considered quite different from each other in the outside world, spend 4 days together in music-loving harmony.

I am a highly skilled and creative storyteller who is passionate about my work. I bring energy and expertise to every project while making the producer's vision come to life.

My favorite part of editing is collaborating with my team and watching an early concept become a final piece. I'm most in my element when working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. I also enjoy mentoring interns and younger editors, launching them further into their careers.

In my spare time, I like to relax with my dogs, Drogo and Porter, cook Italian meals for my family, and work in the garden. In the colder months, you can find me on the ski slopes trying to convince my daughter to go down the black diamonds with me.
